Tamika Harris, OTR/L

Hello. I am Tamika Harris, OTR/L. I have been an Occupational Therapist for more than 20 years. I graduated from East Carolina University in North Carolina. Go Pirates!! I have primarily worked in the school setting but have also worked in early intervention, home health, outpatient clinics, preschool, and a residential center for people with multiple disabilities. I have experience working with a variety of special needs children with diagnosis such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Developmental Delays, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, etc. From time to time, I have blogged over the years about being an School-based OT and single mom of the best son a girl could have ever asked for. Thus, TherapyMomMe was born. Inspired by our changing world, Tamika has started creating online courses and Mentoring Occupational Therapist in the school-based practice area. Moving toward leadership and helping others has rejuvenated me within my career. Supporting OTs and advocating for school-based OTs has given me more purpose. It has moved me from treating my career as if it is only a job. Being an OT is so much more. Starting this business has helped me move into true fulfillment within my occupation. I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you find fulfillment as an OT too.
